Peacemaking Committee

Peacemaking is not only part of the Gospel but central to it, and so making peace with God, with ourselves, and with one another is inherent to the mission of Newton Presbytery. Through the Peacemaking Committee, Newton Presbytery works for peace in the home, in the community, nation and world. Such issues as inter-faith relations, settling international differences through negotiation rather than war, living at peace with the environment, redressing injustices that are behind so much conflict, reducing levels of violence in our society and world are part of the work of the committee. The committee works to extend the reconciling influence of Christ.
