The Handbook for the Local Church, issued by the Presbytery of Newton, was designed to acquaint session members, particularly Clerks, Pastors, and Commissioners to Presbytery, with their responsibilities. The Handbook contains samples of many of the forms used, along with bylaws for congregations, policies, meeting requirements, sample letters and worksheets, funding sources and procedures, determination of terms of call, recommendations to session members regarding vocational guidance, and other information.

Each church is supplied with two copies. Additional copies can be obtained by contacting the Office of Newton Presbytery.
